Enter the total bill, add a tip if there is one, and set how many people are paying — everyone gets an equal share by default, and the tool recalculates instantly as you adjust it.
By default, everyone gets an equal share of the total. If someone had a more expensive dish or drank less than everyone else, drag their slider to set a different amount — the shares for everyone whose slider isn't locked rebalance automatically so the total always adds up. Tap the lock icon next to a person's slider to hold their amount in place while you adjust the rest of the group.
Choose a percentage tip — 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% or 25% — or enter a custom percentage, and it's added to the bill before the total is divided. If the tip or service charge was a fixed amount rather than a percentage, switch to "Custom £" and enter the exact figure instead; the tool works out what percentage of the bill that represents automatically.
For groups larger than 10 people, the tool switches to an equal-split view with the option to add exceptions for anyone paying a different amount — useful for a large work meal or party where a couple of people had extras but everyone else is happy splitting the rest evenly.
