Billable time calculator — track session time and calculate your charge

Rounding applies to the billed duration, not the raw elapsed time. "Up" rounding (e.g. 15 min ↑) rounds any session up to the next full increment — a 41-minute session with 15-minute rounding bills as 45 minutes. "Down" rounding does the opposite, useful if you only want to charge for whole increments actually completed. Choosing "Per half hour" as the charge period automatically switches the default rounding to 30-minute increments, though you can override it manually at any time.

"Floor" mode guarantees you're never paid less than the minimum, however short the session — if the calculated cost falls below it, the minimum is charged instead. "Base + time beyond it" treats the minimum as a fixed session fee that covers an initial block of time, with any time beyond that block billed on top at your normal rate — useful for callout-style work with a fixed first-visit charge.

A cap protects against a session running away in cost. "Stop at cap" freezes the charge at the cap once reached, so the client is never billed more regardless of how much longer the session runs. "Warn only" keeps billing normally past the cap but flags it clearly in the result, so you can decide case by case whether to honour it. "No flag" tracks the cap silently with no banner at all.

Downtime is time within the session that shouldn't be billed — a client stepping away, a break, an interruption. Add it in fixed 30-minute or 1-hour increments, or enter an exact number of minutes manually. Downtime is subtracted from the elapsed time before rounding and cost are calculated, so it reduces the bill directly rather than just being noted for reference.
